You're definitely onto something.
I've personally never had a serious struggle with my weight. Right now I am maybe 5-10 lbs over where I want to be so I'm mostly just trying to maintain. In my case I think it is age related as my metabolism slows in my middle age.
However, as the people seem to slim down around me, I am definitely more conscious of my size and figure. It has changed my habits: I am more disciplined about working out, I'm trying not to eat as much sugar or carbs (although I have a massive sweet tooth and I love bread and potatoes and pasta.)
GLP-1s
My thought when reading this was that I can’t think of anyone I know who had an obvious eating disorder in some time and wondered if it affects younger people more often.
But then it came to mind the shocking transformation I’ve seen in people around me who I assume have used a GLP-1.
I wonder if there is some overlap with eating disorders or if it can trigger a similar sort of effect in people, because I’ve seen middle aged adults who seemed to be a relatively healthy weight lose significant amounts of weight quickly recently. They sometimes look less healthy to me afterwards than before.
