Dating sucks man
I'm in my late-30s now, and back when I was dating in my 20s I met so many young men who would tell me without any self-awareness, that they weren't going to marry until "they were at least 35!" As if it is that easy to lock someone down whenever you decide you are ready lol.
Now I am seeing a new pattern -- women who quietly checked out of dating and men who struggle to find women to date.
I don't think that this switch in roles is a coincidence. As a woman, it is satisfying to see women realize they can say no to men who don't meet their standards. I wish I had had that fortitude and sense of self-worth in my 20s.
That said, I don't think women or men are happier or more fulfilled with the current state of affairs. It is one thing to hold out for someone compatible, and another to quit the game entirely.
