Are pumpkin spice lattes cringe?
The author's comment on being embarrassed to enjoy pumpkin spice lattes really resonated. It's interesting how much our preferences and choices can be shaped by fear of being judged as basic or uncool. When I was in my late teens and 20s, I was hyper aware of the kinds of food I was eating -- especially if I was around other people. For a while I was always ordering the most vegetarian-chic thing on the menu, even if what I really wanted was a greasy hamburger.
How often do we alter what we are eating like because of what other people might think? Does this apply to things other than food?
