The kind of writer I love finding online

Keturah Hickman is one of those writers that you can't easily categorize. It's easy to want to put her into an ideological box but all of her work resists that.

I suspect there are many parts in this essay where someone with a more conventional upbringing would vehemently disagree - but others where they might find themselves grudgingly admitting that she kinda might have a point.

What I find most impressive about Hickman is how honest she is. She recognizes the unique circumstances she grew up in and writes openly about them without necessarily condoning or condemning her family's beliefs. It feels like a genuine exploration of a complicated life.

Finally, she is just a good writer who makes you think, and that is the kind of content we're trying to highlight on The WilderNet.
