Hygiene olympics are a whole online culture war of their own
People are very competitive about how hygienic they are online. I think of myself as being a relatively clean person without being obsessive about it. My house is presentable but lived in, and if someone comes over unexpectedly I don't feel embarrassed to have anyone in my space.
However, I have run into so many discussions over the years where people are accusing each other of being disgusting for not bathing in a certain way, using certain cleaning products, having different frequencies of cleaning, etc.
I guess it is just another example of people being competitive about the dumbest things online.
