Why do we judge female villains so harshly?
A couple examples off the top of my head:
- Breaking Bad - people love Walter White but hate his wife for being "annoying"
- Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: Everyone hates Dolores Umbridge more than Voldemort
A counter example:
- The Little Mermaid - Ursula is treated more of an icon than strictly evil
