I agree. Most of these challenges aren’t unique to men or women.
There probably is reality to there being more baggage involved when dating at an older age.
However, this also means there’s a lot of opportunity if a person can work on themselves and ensure they’re developing good social skills and skills to be a good partner. It’s then becomes much easier to stand out in comparison.
Speaking as a woman who was single until 35...
Once you get to your mid-30s, if you are still single it is very difficult to find a partner who is reasonably attractive, age appropriate, has compatible values and lifestyle, and is in a similar stage of life. You start running into more single parents, people who have been divorced once (or twice!!). People have a lot more baggage or they have weird personality quirks that make it clear why they are still single. You either have to be willing to remain single, or be willing to make a lot more compromises for a potential partner.
I don't think these problems are specific to either men or women.

I found that the main issue is people are a lot more set in their ways. They have their own lives, routines, sometimes they own their own house. They have pets (now you have to figure out if your cats are compatible or if one is going to start peeing everywhere if you move in together).
At a certain point other single people think you are weird if you haven't gotten married or had kids. In your late 20s, that is a plus, by your late 30s people think there must be something seriously wrong with you.
